Boudoir sessions

Kia ora,

I created this page to give more context about my boudoir sessions. You will also find testimonials of recent sessions with Emma, Diana, and Paula. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

First, a bit about myself: I came from France seven years ago for a career change in wildlife conservation. Before that, I worked for many years in the fashion and commercial photography industry in Paris, both as a photographer and a digital producer. I am now settled in Christchurch and wish to offer photography sessions again. I’m starting to build a portfolio, hoping to showcase people of all ages, sexes, body shapes, and colors.

So, why boudoir? In an age of extremely edited pictures, social media, and AI, boudoir sessions are, to me, a way to bring back some authenticity, body positivity, and to show that everyone is beautiful. Boudoir can be very sexy, with fine lingerie and evocative poses, but can also be more natural with casual outfits and genuine smiles. I believe it is a great way to show that beauty comes in many shapes and forms while helping people to love themselves a bit more.

These are TFP sessions: you get free pictures that you can print or make an album with in exchange for posing and allowing me to use the pictures for my portfolio. You don’t have to have any experience in modelling. You have your say in which pictures will be used; if you’re not comfortable with some pictures being shared publicly, they won’t. For example, we can discuss sharing under a private gallery, cropping pictures so they don’t show your face, or even editing some tattoos.

No two sessions are the same. They can lean towards what you feel comfortable with or towards something you want to explore. Do you want something very sensual in fine lingerie? artistic? casual? Inside? Outside? We can do that. Ideally, these sessions would happen at your place, as it adds some variety of locations for me and a familiar environment for you. There is no obligation to pose nude or topless if you don’t feel like it. For the clothing, you can prepare different outfits: fine lingerie, casual lingerie, an off-white casual shirt, some tops, a harness, or even some sweatpants or a long neck sweater, for example. It’s better to bring too much so we can have some choices during the session.

« I had a wonderful experience having boudoir images taken by Arthur. From the moment we started, I felt relaxed and comfortable, and he created an atmosphere that made it easy to feel at ease in front of the camera. Arthur was great at providing gentle verbal guidance with posing here and there when I felt I needed a bit of inspiration. As anyone who’s had photos taken knows, the way a pose feels isn’t always the way it looks, so his direction was always sensitive, respectful, and genuinely helpful.
I never felt awkward or self-conscious, just supported throughout the session and respected despite the elements of vulnerability required to shoot boudoir images.
What amazed me most was seeing myself from angles I’d never seen before. Arthur captured beautiful perspectives that made me appreciate myself in a whole new way. The final images are absolutely stunning, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
If you’re considering a boudoir shoot, I can wholeheartedly recommend Arthur. It was a comfortable, empowering experience, and I walked away with gorgeous photographs that truly made me feel like the goddess I am. » – Emma

« Being the subject of an intimate photoshoot is a deeply vulnerable experience, yet working with Arthur made it feel entirely empowering. Despite the intimacy of the setting and being partially undressed, his calm, assured, and deeply professional presence meant that there was never a moment of awkwardness; I felt completely at ease from start to finish. His ability to capture a mood through lighting and composition creates highly evocative results. He offers gentle guidance and light conversation that takes all the pressure off the moment, allowing for a truly candid and authentic vibe. As a woman navigating my early 40s and coming to terms with the changes my body has undergone since having a child, I found this experience profoundly confidence-building. The resulting images are intimate, honest, and beautiful, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. » – Diana

« Working with Arthur was such a beautiful experience. I felt comfortable from the very first minute, which is so important, especially when you’re doing a more intimate shoot. He has this amazing way of making you feel safe, respected, and completely at ease. He’s incredibly professional, pays attention to every little detail, but at the same time gives you the space to be yourself, play, move naturally, and express your own personality in front of the camera. I loved the pictures!!! I would highly recommend Arthur to anyone looking for a talented, professional photographer who truly knows how to bring out the best in you. Thank you ! » – Paula
